Service credential disclosure via plaintext password storage

Plaintext password storage in Dell PowerProtect DM5500 5.14 and earlier allows local users to read certain service credentials. The appliance stores those credentials without cryptographic protection; Dell has not disclosed the responsible component or storage location. Existing low-privileged local access is required, and the recovered credentials grant the compromised service account's application privileges.
