CVE-2023-44256Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Internal data disclosure via PDF renderer SSRF

Published Oct 20, 2023 · Updated Sep 12, 2024

Server-side request forgery in Fortinet FortiAnalyzer and FortiManager allows remote authenticated users to read internal web data. The FortiViews PDF endpoint passes submitted HTML to wkhtmltopdf, which follows attacker-supplied iframe URLs and embeds returned content in the generated PDF. A low-privilege account and access to PDF report generation are required; successful requests expose reachable internal web services and support local port scanning.
