CVE-2023-4423Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Stored XSS via unsanitized field-type setting

Published Sep 27, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

Stored XSS in WP Event Manager 3.1.37.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to execute scripts. The form editor stores a crafted event field-type value from its settings request and renders it into table markup without adequate sanitization or output escaping. Exploitation requires administrator access and affects multisite installations or installations with unfiltered_html disabled; the script runs in the browser of a user who accesses the injected form.
