rpd crash via malformed BGP UPDATE
Published Oct 12, 2023 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Improper input validation in rpd in Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows remote attackers to crash the daemon via BGP. The UPDATE parser fails to reject syntactically malformed input before rpd processes it, causing the process to terminate and restart. An established eBGP or iBGP session and a protocols bgp configuration are required; successful exploitation interrupts routing-protocol service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
