CVE-2023-44176

Service interruption via stack-overflowing CLI command

Published Oct 12, 2023 · Updated Sep 19, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in Juniper Networks Junos OS allows local users with low privileges to interrupt service via a CLI command. CLI command processing writes beyond a stack buffer when a specific command is executed; Juniper has not identified the command or affected routine. A low-privileged CLI account is required, and repeating the command sustains the denial of service, causing traffic loss and network outages.
