Contributor-level checklist tampering via unchecked post identifiers
Published Jun 19, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Missing authorization in Brainstorm Force Pre-Publish Checklist 1.1.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter arbitrary posts. The ppc_meta_box_ajax_add_handler and ppc_meta_box_ajax_delete_handler functions accept a user-controlled post identifier without confirming authorization for the referenced post. Contributor-level access is sufficient to modify or delete the _ppc_meta_key value, disrupting checklist state for posts the account does not control.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
