Contributor-level post modification via unchecked AJAX callback
Published Jun 19, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Missing authorization in Presto Made, Inc. Astra Bulk Edit 1.2.7 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter post metadata. The save_post_bulk_edit AJAX callback accepts attacker-selected post IDs and writes their Astra metadata without checking edit_post for each post. A contributor-level account with a valid plugin nonce can therefore bulk-edit posts outside its authorized scope, altering page layout settings.
