System-privileged file deletion via post-delete signature check
Published Sep 27, 2023 · Updated Sep 20, 2024
Time-of-check time-of-use race in LGInstallService on LG Electronics LG V60 ThinQ 5G Android 4 through 13 allows attackers to delete arbitrary files. The exported com.lge.lginstallservies.InstallService AIDL service deletes the supplied file before installPackageVerify() performs signature validation, so attacker-controlled conditions can prevent the check. Local access and user interaction are required; the result is attacker-selected file deletion with system privilege rather than arbitrary code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
