Root access via permissive sudo entries
Published Jan 9, 2024 · Updated Nov 14, 2024
Privilege escalation in Siemens Spectrum Power 7 before V23Q4 allows local users to gain root access through its sudo configuration. The configuration permits the local administrative account to execute several entries as root, and those execution paths accept injected code. Access to that authenticated local account is required; successful exploitation executes attacker-controlled code with root privileges.
