Code execution via out-of-bounds SPP read
Published Oct 10, 2023 · Updated Feb 27, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Siemens Tecnomatix Plant Simulation V2201 and V2302 allows attackers to execute code via crafted SPP files. The SPP parser reads past the end of an allocated structure while processing a specially crafted simulation file. Successful exploitation requires a user to open the file; code then runs with the current process privileges, and the malformed access can crash the application.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
