DNS service denial via costly message parsing

Algorithmic complexity in affected BIND 9 releases allows remote attackers to interrupt DNS service with crafted queries or responses. The named DNS message parser enters an excessively expensive computation while processing attacker-controlled large messages, driving sustained CPU consumption. Exploitation requires flooding an authoritative server or recursive resolver with those messages and denies legitimate clients timely DNS resolution without reported data exposure or modification.
