CVE-2023-44017Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Code execution via unchecked timeZone length

Published Sep 27, 2023 · Updated Sep 24, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC10U Firmware 15.03.06.49_multi_TDE01 allows remote attackers to crash httpd or execute code via timeZone. The fromSetSysTime handler accepts timeZone from a POST to /goform/SetSysTimeCfg and forwards it without checking its length, overflowing a stack buffer. The request requires no authentication or user interaction; the published proof of concept demonstrates an httpd segmentation fault, while root-shell execution is reported but not demonstrated.
