Code execution via unchecked MAC-filter parameter lengths
Published Sep 27, 2023 · Updated Sep 24, 2024
Stack overflows in Tenda AC10U Firmware 15.03.06.49_multi_TDE01 allow remote attackers to execute code through crafted MAC-filter requests. The formSetMacFilterCfg handler passes the user-controlled macFilterType and deviceList values to stack-buffer operations without checking their lengths. No authentication or user interaction is required on the reachable management endpoint; an oversized POST can crash the HTTP service, while successful control-flow hijacking grants root-shell execution.
