Administrator-level stored XSS via unsanitized popup fields
Published Oct 31, 2023 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Stored XSS in AYS Pro Plugins Popup Box before 3.7.2 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through popup fields. The plugin stores Custom Content and Popup Description input without adequate sanitization or output escaping, then executes injected script when the popup is edited or displayed on the frontend. Administrator-level access is required, but exploitation remains possible when unfiltered_html is disabled and can affect editors or visitors who view the stored content.
