Stored script execution via Main Menu fields
Published Sep 28, 2023 · Updated Sep 23, 2024
Stored XSS in Rite CMS 3.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through crafted Main Menu item fields. The Administration menu accepts payloads in the Name, Title, Link, and Accesskey fields and later renders the stored values on the main site without effective neutralization. Low-privileged panel access is required, and execution occurs when another user loads the affected page, enabling browser-context data access or modification.
