Stored XSS via unencoded Home Page fields
Published Oct 4, 2023 · Updated Sep 19, 2024
Stored XSS in Rite CMS 3.0 Home Page settings allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in visitors' browsers. The administration form stores crafted SVG onload markup in content, properties, and sidebar fields, and the public home page renders it without effective output encoding. Administrative access is required to plant the payload; any visitor who opens the affected home page runs it in the site's browser origin.
