CVE-2023-43849Public exploit

Device compromise via unauthenticated firmware fragment uploads

Published May 28, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Improper access control in ATEN PE6208 firmware 2.3.228 and 2.4.232 allows remote attackers to compromise the device via firmware uploads. The fwupgrade.cgi handler accepts unauthenticated POSTed firmware fragments, allowing modified firmware containing malicious code to replace the device image. Network access to the management interface is sufficient; successful manipulation can execute code, interrupt service, and prevent later legitimate firmware uploads.
