Firewall rule modification via unbound administrator identifier
Published May 28, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Incorrect access control in the ATEN PE6208 web interface 2.3.228 and 2.4.232 allows remote authenticated users to alter firewall rules. The device_management/security.cgi handler accepts a valid unprivileged SID with UID 8 and applies submitted IP or MAC rule parameters. Any authenticated low-privilege account can therefore enable, disable, or rewrite the device firewall without administrator authorization.
