CVE-2023-43847Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated outlet control via trusted administrator UID

Published May 28, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Incorrect access control in ATEN PE6208 2.3.228 and 2.4.232 allows remote authenticated users to switch any outlet via HTTP POST requests. The outlet_access/connections.cgi handler accepts a valid unprivileged SID and trusts UID=8 as the administrator while processing outcont40X power-state parameters. Any low-privilege web account can therefore energize or de-energize all connected equipment, and switching an outlet off interrupts the powered service.
