Authenticated account password disclosure via trusted administrator UID
Published May 28, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Incorrect access control in ATEN PE6208 2.3.228 and 2.4.232 allows remote authenticated users to read all account passwords. The /xml/accounts.xml endpoint accepts a valid low-privilege SID and trusts a caller-supplied UID of 8 to return administrator and user credentials without checking the session's authorization. Any user with an unprivileged session can retrieve reusable web-interface credentials, including the administrator password.
