CVE-2023-43825

Code execution via backup import path traversal

Published Sep 27, 2023 · Updated Sep 24, 2024

Path traversal in EKAKIN Shihonkanri Plus 9.0.3 and earlier allows local users to execute arbitrary code through a crafted backup file. The backup importer fails to confine relative paths from the archive to the intended extraction directory, allowing embedded files to escape it. Exploitation requires a legitimate user to import the attacker-supplied backup; resulting code runs with that user's application privileges.
