CVE-2023-43814Network attack vector

Unauthorized private poll disclosure via grouped-results endpoint

Published Oct 16, 2023 · Updated Sep 13, 2024

Improper access control in Discourse stable 3.1.1 and earlier and beta 3.2.0.beta2 and earlier allows remote attackers to read private poll data. The /polls/grouped_poll_results endpoint returns option content and vote counts grouped by participant attributes without enforcing the poll's result-visibility restrictions. No account is required, but the requester must know topic-specific poll identifiers; disclosure is limited to poll options and grouped vote counts.
