CVE-2023-43777Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Project password disclosure via recoverable file storage

Published Oct 17, 2023 · Updated Sep 13, 2024

Plaintext password storage in Eaton easySoft before 8.01 allows attackers to recover project passwords from protected project files. The password-protection function stores the password inside the project file in a form that the published recovery tool extracts as plaintext. Possession of a protected project file is sufficient to disclose its password, exposing its configuration and any other account where that password was reused.
