Privilege escalation via unauthenticated Analytics RMI ports
Published Feb 28, 2024 · Updated Nov 25, 2024
Improper authentication in Couchbase Server 6.x through 7.2.3 allows remote attackers to escalate privileges through Analytics RMI ports. The Analytics Service exposes Java RMI endpoints on TCP ports 9119 and 9121 without requiring authentication before servicing calls. The service must be installed and network-reachable; Couchbase states that Community Edition lacks the Analytics components.
