Service interruption via crafted archive unpacking
Published Sep 22, 2023 · Updated Sep 25, 2024
Denial of service in the aepack unpack handler in affected WithSecure security products allows remote attackers to interrupt service. The handler consumes attacker-supplied archive data until resource exhaustion interrupts processing; published sources do not identify the exhausted resource. Network access requires no privileges or user interaction, and the documented consequence is limited to service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
