Stored XSS via unescaped code and list names
Published Sep 19, 2023 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Stored XSS in the Serial Codes Generator plugin before 2.4.15 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in an administrator's browser. The code-storage and code-list-name fields persist HTML without sanitization or output escaping, so reopening the plugin settings renders attacker-supplied script. Administrator-level access is required under the CNA record, and exploitation remains possible when unfiltered_html is disabled, including WordPress multisite configurations.
