Authenticated code execution via unchecked image upload
Published Sep 28, 2023 · Updated Sep 23, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in Online Book Store Project 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a crafted book image. The image parameter accepted by admin_edit.php passes a submitted book image to code in edit_book.php without validating its contents, extension, or media type. An authenticated account with access to the book-editing function can upload a server-executable file and run code on the application host.
