Subscriber-level log disclosure via unchecked AJAX handler
Published Aug 16, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in WP Remote Users Sync 1.2.11 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to view activity logs through AJAX. The refresh_logs_async AJAX handler returns stored communication logs without checking whether the requesting account has an administrative capability. Remote authenticated users need only subscriber privileges, but disclosure depends on activity logging being enabled and is limited to recorded synchronization data.
