Browser script execution via unsanitized theme title
Published Sep 30, 2023 · Updated Sep 23, 2024
Cross-site scripting in osCommerce 4.12.56860 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in another user's browser via a crafted title. The /admin/design/theme-title endpoint accepts the title parameter without sufficient validation or output neutralization, causing embedded script markup to execute when the affected content is viewed. Administrative-area access and a subsequent page view are required; successful exploitation runs code in the viewing user's browser context.
