Code execution via unlocked verification-execution race
Published Aug 14, 2025 · Updated Aug 15, 2025
Race condition in Malwarebytes before 4.6.14.326 and before 5.1.5.116 allows remote attackers to execute code via a file-replacement race. The file-processing path verifies a file and later executes it without locking the file against replacement between those operations. Network access with no authentication or user interaction is sufficient; successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled code and can expose or alter endpoint data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
