CVE-2023-43661Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unsandboxed Twig templates

Published Oct 11, 2023 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Server-side template injection in Cachet before 2.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code through the incidents API. CreateIncidentCommandHandler and UpdateIncidentCommandHandler pass stored incident-template text to an unsandboxed Twig environment, allowing attacker-controlled filters to invoke PHP functions. A non-admin account, a created incident template, and an API token are required; successful exploitation runs commands with the web service's privileges.
