Denial of service in Xerial snappy-java 1.1.10.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to crash dependent applications via crafted input. SnappyInputStream accepts an untrusted positive chunkSize without an upper-bound check and expands its compressed-data heap buffer to that size, triggering OutOfMemoryError. Exposure requires a dependent application to pass attacker-controlled compressed data to SnappyInputStream; JVM ExitOnOutOfMemoryError or CrashOnOutOfMemoryError settings can terminate its process.
