Device takeover via unmeasured configuration changes
Published Sep 20, 2023 · Updated Sep 24, 2024
Improper measured boot in LF Edge EVE-OS allows physically proximate attackers to alter the config partition without detection. DiskKeySealingPCRs omits PCR14 and seals the vault key against SHA-1 PCR values, while measurefs.go extends only SHA-256 PCR14. Physical disk access permits offline configuration changes that evade measured boot and remote attestation, enabling device control and vault access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
