Local IP disclosure via unencrypted address exchange
Published Sep 20, 2023 · Updated Sep 25, 2024
Information disclosure in Croc before 9.6.16 allows remote attackers to read sender-local IP addresses from protocol traffic. Croc sender logic serializes every locally assigned address into the ips? reply and transmits that reply before establishing peer encryption. A transfer using automatic address discovery is required; exposure is limited to local addresses that can reveal internal network structure or help identify the sender.
