CVE-2023-43540

Memory corruption via unchecked FM HCI write

Published Mar 4, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Memory corruption in Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms allows local users to alter memory via an IOCTL FM HCI WRITE request. The Bluetooth HOST handler copies attacker-controlled request data without checking that the input fits the destination buffer. The request is local and needs neither prior privileges nor user interaction; Qualcomm has not disclosed the exact post-corruption behavior.
