CVE-2023-4352Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Client-side code execution via read-only property overwrite

Published Aug 15, 2023 · Updated May 5, 2025

Type confusion in V8 in Google Chrome before 116.0.5845.96 allows remote attackers to corrupt heap memory via a crafted HTML page. TurboFan omits kDefine from its read-only-property guard, permitting rawJSON replacement with a non-string that JsonStringifier casts without checking. The attack requires a user to load the page; the demonstrated primitive corrupts browser-process memory and supports client-side code execution.
