Arbitrary file upload in Telstra Smart Modem Gen 2 LH1000 firmware before 0.18.15r allows remote attackers to execute code as root. The hidden hninh987R47san82.htm page submits firmware or encrypted configuration backups to fake_upload.cgi, which accepts direct unauthenticated uploads without enforcing its hardcoded key check. An attacker with network access to the modem can alter the administrator password or enable a root Telnet shell, while an invalid backup can leave the device unrecoverable.
