Script execution via unsanitized installer fields
Published Oct 19, 2023 · Updated Sep 12, 2024
Reflected XSS in Evolution CMS 3.2.3 allows local users to execute browser scripts through crafted installation admin options. The database installation Admin options process reflects the cmsadmin, cmsadminemail, cmspassword, and cmspasswordconfim values without adequate sanitization. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access to the installation workflow and executes injected JavaScript when the next installation step renders.
