Authenticated privilege escalation via trusted session storage
Published Jan 24, 2024 · Updated Jun 20, 2025
Privilege escalation in Coign CRM Portal 06.06 allows remote authenticated users to obtain administrative access through session storage. The portal trusts the client-controlled userPermissionsList value in browser session storage when determining authorization, so modifying it grants elevated permissions without a server-side privilege check. A low-privileged account is required, and successful exploitation grants access to administrative functions within the affected portal.
