Stored script execution via unescaped cron username
Published Sep 21, 2023 · Updated Sep 24, 2024
Stored XSS in Webmin 2.002 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via the Cluster Cron Job form. The “Execute cron job as” field accepts crafted HTML and JavaScript that the page executes instead of treating the value as text. An administrator-level Webmin session is required to store the payload, and a user must load the affected page for the script to run in that user's browser.
