Authenticated code execution via QoS command injection
Published Oct 5, 2023 · Updated Sep 19, 2024
Command injection in D-Link DIR-846 firmware 100A53DBR-Retail allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code via QoS requests. The SetSmartQoSSettings handler passes the smartqos_priority_devices value containing shell substitution syntax into command processing without neutralizing it. Access requires valid router credentials; successful exploitation runs attacker-selected commands on the appliance and can read or alter its data and configuration.
