Video disclosure and deletion via unauthenticated FTP
Published Oct 9, 2023 · Updated Sep 19, 2024
Missing authentication in 70mai A500S firmware 1.2.119 allows remote attackers to access and delete recorded video files via FTP. The inetd configuration exposes the ftpd and tftpd services without permission authentication, allowing direct file operations against recordings stored by the dash cam. Network reachability to the device is required; exploitation needs no credentials and permits disclosure or deletion of recordings without altering other device functions.
