Authenticated code execution via unescaped userId
Published Sep 22, 2023 · Updated Sep 24, 2024
Command injection in dst-admin 1.5.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through the userId parameter at /home/playerOperate. The playerOperate service inserts userId with String.format into a quoted game-console command, then embeds the result in a screen shell command without validation or escaping. The route requires an authenticated session, and successful injection executes attacker-controlled commands with the dst-admin process account's privileges.
