Arbitrary script execution via malformed Markdown input
Published Sep 26, 2023 · Updated Sep 23, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Froala Editor 4.1.1 allows remote attackers to execute script via crafted Markdown component input. The component accepts a malformed anchor containing an image onerror handler and emits executable HTML instead of neutralizing the handler. A victim must render attacker-supplied content; the script then runs in the embedding site's browser origin and can read or alter accessible page data.
