Session hijacking via reflected CGI path injection
Published Oct 5, 2023 · Updated Sep 19, 2024
Reflected XSS in Milesight router firmware before 35.3.0.7 allows remote attackers to execute scripts through a crafted admin-panel URL. The CGI handler echoes arbitrary text placed after /cgi-bin/ into an HTML response without output encoding, so script markup executes in the viewing browser. A user must open the crafted URL; script execution can read the unprotected session cookie and act through the user's administrative session.
