Management-process crash via unchecked QoS parameter length
Published Sep 21, 2023 · Updated Sep 24, 2024
Stack overflow in D-Link DIR-816 A2 1.10CNB05 allows remote attackers to crash GoAhead through a crafted QoS deletion request. The form2IPQoSTcDel handler uses the attacker-controlled removeRuleList string length as the maximum write length for a fixed-size stack buffer. Access from an adjacent network requires no authentication; the published proof of concept crashes the management process, while code execution is asserted but not demonstrated.
