Remote code execution via nvmacaddr length misuse
Published Sep 21, 2023 · Updated Sep 24, 2024
Stack overflow in form2Dhcpip.cgi in D-Link DIR-816 A2 1.10CNB05 allows remote attackers to crash the GoAhead process. The handler uses the attacker-controlled nvmacaddr string length as maxlen, causing a write beyond a stack buffer. Access to the router web interface and a token obtainable from its login page are required; a crash is demonstrated, while root execution is asserted.
