Arbitrary code execution via unescaped configuration write
Published Sep 26, 2023 · Updated Sep 24, 2024
Code injection in SeaCMS 12.8 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code through the admin_ping.php endpoint. The handler inserts POST-supplied weburl and token values into data/admin/ping.php and writes the generated PHP without escaping or validation. Crafted values escape the quoted assignment, causing the configuration file to run injected code with the web service account's privileges.
