Unauthenticated administrator takeover via AS2 header clobbering
Published Nov 17, 2023 · Updated Sep 4, 2024
Mass assignment in CrushFTP before 10.5.1 allows remote attackers to hijack user sessions and obtain administrator access. ServerSessionAJAX.java's buildPostItem() copies every request header from as2Info into the session's user_info Properties with putAll(), allowing an AS2-To request to overwrite trusted session attributes. An exposed web interface is sufficient; exploitation begins with an anonymous pseudo-session and can expose files and plaintext passwords or enable arbitrary command execution.
