Administrator-triggered code execution via unvalidated PHP deserialization
Published Sep 11, 2023 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
PHP object injection in wpDataTables before 2.1.66 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through a serialized PHP array. The table-creation workflow fetches a selected Serialized PHP array source and deserializes its contents without validating the object payload. An administrator must create a linked table, and code execution also requires a suitable gadget chain on the WordPress server.
